MONDAY MORNING JOE: Telling An Epic Story

Telling an epic story with our lives is something we all long for in some way. Epic storytelling doesn’t have to be about dispatching a ring in Mount Doom. Epic storytelling with our lives can be as simple choosing to love your spouse deeper or deciding you’re going to volunteer. Epic storytelling with our lives can happen in a variety of ways.

4 WAYS YOU CAN BEGIN TELLING YOUR EPIC STORY

1. Find your why. Your “why” is the reason you were put here on this earth. It is discovering where your passion, your hopes, and your dreams meet your community’s needs.

2. Begin writing your story. Now that you have found your why, it is time begin writing your story. How do you begin? Start small and create a vision board with all your hopes and dreams. Frame it and put it somewhere that will daily remind you of your why and your vision.

3. Create goals that will move your story forward. Finding your why and creating your vision board lays the foundation for an epic story. Goals are how we build upon the foundation. It is how we create action steps to bring our story to life.

4. Find a coach to cheer you along the way. This is where I shamelessly plug an opportunity the YMCA provides an amazing free resource…me. If you need a coach or just someone to cheer you on as you embark on your epic story, let’s schedule a time to dream together.

Remember: you have been given an amazing story to tell. And our community is in need of epic storytellers.
