Henri Nouwen writes, “A life of faith is a life of gratitude—it means a life in which I am willing to experience my complete dependance upon God and to praise and thank the Holy One unceasingly for the gift of life.”  

In today’s episode, Joe talks about the Christian tradition of Lent and how the season of Lent provides an opportunity for each of us to embrace the reality of our mortality. When we embrace the reality that one day this world will pass away, we open ourselves up to being able to fully love our neighbor as ourselves because we see life as the gift we have been given.
