The YMCA is proud to introduce the YMCA Esports League.

The YMCA will offer Esports Leagues during the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Sports Seasons.

Games will consist of NBA 2k, Madden, Fortnite, Smash Bros., Rocket League, and more.  Participants will be responsible for additional licensing fees for each game selected.

Esports will be available for youth ages 7-17.

In partnership with the University of Central Oklahoma, the YMCA is proud to introduce the YMCA Esports League.

Participants will participate in games at The CO-OP on the UCO Campus in Edmond.  The 5,703-square-foot space houses more than 48 high-end PC gaming stations featuring high-fidelity visuals and equipped with RTX 2080 graphic cards for consistently high frames per second (FPS), two virtual reality booths, five Nintendo Switch consoles and a growing library of popular board and tabletop games.

Games will consist of Fortnite, Smash Bros. and Rocket League.

Esports will be available for youth ages 7-17. Youth will compete against other YMCA Participants in a supervised setting.

Equipment 

Each participant will receive YMCA / UCO Esports jersey and an end of season medal.

Trophies will be provided to League Champions.

Participants will select from the games below and will be responsible for providing the additional licensing fees per game.

  • Fortnite – Free
  • Rocket League – Free
  • Super Smash Bros. – Free

Age Cut Off, Divisions, & Dates

YMCA sports leagues are divided by the age of the participants. Below are ages for the League.

  • 7-10  Saturdays 9a-1030a

YMCA National Esports Pilot Program

The pilot league is open to fifth- through twelfth-grade students interested in competing against peers from cities across the Central time zone such as Dallas, Omaha or Chicago.

The pilot program games will include Rocket League, NBA 2K21 and Super Smash Bros. Participants will need their own home platform
and whichever game they select to play.  (Platforms include XboxOne, Playstation4, and Nintendo Switch)

The eight-week season, which includes a weekly practice with character development and a competitive
match, will begin Monday, April 5 and end Thursday, May 27. Play is open to Y members and non-members. The cost will be $20 for the pilot season.

The Middle School Division is for students in Grades 5th-8th.  (Mon/Wed 6p-7p)

The High School Division is for students in Grades 9th-12th. (Tues/Thurs 6p-7p)

Sign-ups open Wednesday, March 17 and close once 50 participants have registered.

The pilot is the YMCA of the USA’s first step toward bringing prominence to esports with a goal of creating a national YMCA league in the near future.

This league is separate from YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City’s esports league and gaming partnership with the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO).
