LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA
This free, 12-week small group program was developed and established in partnership with the LIVESTRONG® Foundation. The program assists those who are living with, through or beyond cancer to strengthen their spirit, mind and body. Our program is about saying goodbye to being a patient and saying hello to being a healthy, whole person again. The small group, physical activity program uses a private, non-intimidating circuit style that helps participants build strength, increase endurance, increase flexibility, reduce side effects of treatment, improve energy levels and self-esteem and improve overall quality of life. Before & After School Care
The Y is the area’s largest provider of school-age childcare. Our program provides care before and after school for kids ages 5 to 12 years old. Kids are given the opportunity to express their individual talents in a safe and well supervised atmosphere. The entire experience is built around activities that challenge kids to accept and demonstrate the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Transportation provided to and from John Ross, Cross Timbers, Washington Irving, Centennial, Frontier and Heritage.

Youth Sports
We offer year-round youth sports, where kids improve their skills, make new friends and learn sportsmanship. Our sports programs provide children with opportunities to learn specific skills in a supportive environment. They are conducted with an emphasis on positive personal growth and we balance the development of physical skills with other important aspects of sports including leadership, teamwork and cooperation.

Sports include: YMCA Thunder Basketball, baseball, softball, t-ball, soccer, golf, track and field, volleyball, cross country, flag football and Miracle League baseball.

Swim Lessons & Swim Team
Swim lessons are available for all ages and all levels. Our instructors teach progressive, skills-based lessons. Water safety is our main focus, along with swim readiness, stroke development and establishing a lifelong, healthy approach to water, exercise and fun. Group and private lessons available.

The Y Swim Team program is designed for children who are advanced swimmers, or who have basic competitive stroke skills. Our program is developmental and focuses on introducing the skills and knowledge to be on a club or school swim team.  Swimmers wishing to join the team must first join the wait list and then pass a swim evaluation. Practice times are Mon. and Wed. 4-5 p.m. or 5-6 p.m. and Friday 4-5 p.m.

Summer Day Camp
The Y’s Summer Day Camp is held Monday through Friday and provides kids ages 5-12 years old supervised activities that foster youth development. We focus on honesty, caring, respect and responsibility in all of our fun-filled activities. We allow for physical involvement, social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth and creativity in everything we do. The Y’s core values are emphasized throughout activities, conversations and ceremonies.

Before and After Camp Care is offered beginning at 7 a.m. each morning and until 6 p.m. each evening at no additional cost.
