It is with great sadness that we announce the last day the YMCA Healthy Living Center – INTEGRIS (“HLC”) will be open is Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023. This difficult decision was made in conjunction with INTEGRIS and was not made lightly. The YMCA Healthy Living Center – INTEGRIS is a wonderful facility with a fantastic community comprised of staff, volunteers and members, and we are sensitive to how changes of this nature can impact people and their lives.
Unfortunately, the YMCA Healthy Living Center – INTEGRIS has experienced a slow recovery from the pandemic, creating significant financial challenges. Rising operating costs, coupled with increased maintenance issues, have created an unsustainable situation that neither the YMCA nor INTEGRIS have the resources to address. As a result, we must discontinue the operation of this facility.
To help ease this transition, we are providing every HLC member with a free year-long subscription to the EGYM+ program. This premium subscription uses smart strength equipment and intelligent training programs to guide you to reach personal goals and achieve results. Weights, repetitions and training methods are automatically adjusted for each session, and strength tests are performed regularly to ensure optimal training weight. This equipment is exclusively at the North Side YMCA. For more information and to register, please fill out this form.
We want to assure you that the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is here to support you through this transition and ensure you have access to the same great programs, services and sense of community that the YMCA has always provided. Our commitment to your well-being remains unwavering, and we’re here to help you through to the next chapter of your Y journey.
Over the next several weeks, we will have YMCA staff in the HLC lobby available to answer any questions you may have. As Dec. 23 nears, the North Side YMCA will host some welcome receptions to greet our new members and provide an opportunity for everyone to connect and engage. Regardless of which YMCA becomes your new home, your membership rate will not change. Yes, there are several nearby YMCA locations to choose from. The North Side YMCA is the closest, with a drive of approximately 5 miles from the YMCA Healthy Living Center – INTEGRIS (“HLC”).
Additionally, both the Bethany YMCA and Rockwell Plaza YMCA are also conveniently located just 5-6 miles away from the HLC. We encourage you to explore these nearby options and find the YMCA that best suits your preferences and needs..
Your membership will not be affected. One of the many benefits of having a YMCA membership is the ability to access ANY YMCA branch within the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City area. This means you can seamlessly continue enjoying the same programs and services at any of our other locations. We are committed to ensuring that your YMCA experience remains uninterrupted, and we’re here to assist you in making the transition as smooth as possible.
No, you will not need a new barcode or key fob to check in. All the YMCAs within the Greater Oklahoma City association use the same check-in and membership software. This means your existing barcode or key fob will work seamlessly at any YMCA branch within the association.
No, you will not have to restart your membership. Your membership will automatically transfer to the North Side YMCA, but you are welcome to visit any Y in the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma association.
The North Side YMCA opens at 5 a.m. on weekdays, providing you with the opportunity to maintain your early morning workout routine. Many YMCAs within the Greater Oklahoma City association also open by 5 a.m. on weekdays. For specific details about the opening hours of other YMCAs in the area, you can refer to our website at ymcaokc.org/locations.
The North Side YMCA and the YMCA Healthy Living Center—INTEGRIS are managed by the same leadership team, which means the same full-time team you’re accustomed to seeing at HLC will also be at the North Side YMCA. We are working with all part-time staff members to relocate them to a Y of their choosing, but the majority will come to the North Side YMCA.
Our goal is to relocate as many of our classes to the North Side YMCA as possible. However, we are leaving this up to our instructors. We hope to have a new class schedule for the North Side YMCA ready by Friday, Dec. 15 that will start after the first of the year.
