Since 1941, YMCA Camp Classen has been providing an overnight camp experience to children throughout Oklahoma and beyond. At
Camp Classen, campers make life-long friends and participate in life-changing experiences. Located in Davis, Oklahoma, our
unique setting lends itself to adventure creating an environment for learning, growth, and challenge.
People, especially children, need an experience that only camp can provide. Since COVID, incidences of mental health-related issues have risen by over 30%. Camp provides a safe place for kids to develop life skills such as resilience and problem-solving. It also allows for the chance to experience success and achievement. More than anything, camp is an equal opportunity life changer.
It addresses universal needs not specific to a particular racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic group. It truly is for all.
Most of camp’s facilities were built in the 1940s. YMCA Camp Classen can house as many as 350 campers each week during the summer, but does not have the dining space or activities equipment to realize that capacity. Through strategic updates of our dining
hall and program areas, we will be able to welcome more campers, as well as multiple school groups and retreats at the same time. The demand is there. With this investment, we can meet that need.
In 2023, we commissioned a 20-year master plan project to identify the greatest needs for our facilities, staff and constituents. Through that we have identified Phase One of our plan, which we believe will have the greatest impact on our guests and program
quality in the decades to come.
Our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
