Our History
The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City was formed in May of 1889, three weeks after the Oklahoma Land Run. In those days, the Y’s purpose was to provide a source of strength and positive influence for young men who had traveled far from their families to make a new life for themselves.
Today, we have expanded to 15 branches, two child development centers, one program center out of the airport, 25 community-based program sites and an overnight camp.
We take great pride in providing programs, services and solutions to address our community’s needs such as:
Global Inclusion, Diversity & Equity at the YMCA
