YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City

Since the 1960s, The Village and the north OKC community has turned to the YMCA for activities and programs that nurture youth, encourage healthy living and foster social responsibility. From preschoolers to active adults, the Y has been a touchstone for thousands of residents over the years.

As we look to the future of our metro area, we know that we can do more. We can be better located. We can partner and share facilities with other entities, allowing all of us to be of greater service while also being good stewards of the resources we’ve been given.

Currently, we are reimagining what the North Side Y can be for our community as we serve some of the most highly distressed zip codes in Oklahoma City. This vision would include:

  • Expanded school-age childcare and early childhood care
  • Gym with walking track
  • More group exercise studios
  • Community/commercial kitchen for cooking lessons and feeding program support
  • Intergenerational gathering spaces
  • Community outreach facilities for partners
  • Expanded fitness center with e-Gym and other training options

The community benefits of a new YMCA go beyond the programs and services we offer:

  • Job creation
  • Economic development for the area
  • Increased access to childcare and feeding for underserved populations
  • Enhanced emotional and social wellbeing for all ages
  • Partnership growth with other non-profits
  • Corporate wellness opportunities

Current budget projections are $37M for this modern and accessible 60,000 square foot facility. Through various partnerships and other funding sources, we seek to raise $15M through fundraising from corporations, foundations and invested community members like you.
